Something Different

Hi all

Something different this time, well for me anyway, a man's birthday card, and I must admit they are a lot quicker than girls cards, I think I fluff around way too long on arranging the flowers on a girls card, but no flowers to be seen on this card!!!

The base layout is based on a card by Mindy Baxter, the papers are Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby, the image is Lilly of the Valley Die Card (big thanks to Dianne for letting me pinch it from her) actually I had to beg, borrow and steal a few things for this card, borrowed some more seam binding from Rachel to do the bow on the inside and also borrowed a few more large pearls from Dianne as I didn't quite have enough.  Its great when a few of you get together to do a big order from somewhere cause then you know others have the same things and you can swap stuff when you run out :)

Some close ups.......

The clock is from Prima's Antique Mirror range, so cool!!!

The Happy Birthday letters are Kaiser Craft's mini aphas.

The insides.......

Close ups.......

and the back.......

Close ups of the metal embellishements from Wild Orchid Crafts which are soo cool.......

This card was given to one of my workmates husband for his 70th, they had a big party last night, with family and friends coming from all over our country (New Zealand) and some from Australia, so when I got home from work on Friday I made some gluten free chocolate cupcakes and apple muffins and took them up with the card latter that night. Roger was thrilled with his card and they all thought the cupcakes & muffins were fab.  So that was great!!!!

Overall I made 8 1/2 dozen cupcakes and muffins this weekend and have given most of them away, it's way too dangerous to have them in the house, only want to eat them and thats a big no no at the moment!!! :(

Well thanks for taking the time to look at my card, hope you like it.  Make sure to check the other girls blogs out they do awesome stuff!!!!

Catch ya's later

Dandelion Girl Card

Hi all

I finally finished the card I started making on Tuesday night, had a block as to what to do on the inside!!!  The front is based on a card by the talented Bev Rochester.

The cute image is Dandelion Girl Digi Image from Whimsey Stamps by Sylvia Zet, she does very cute images.  The paper is from my Scrap Cake pad The Bright Side of Life, is gorgeous paper but actually quite expensive, I did a break down of how much it cost to make this card and got a bit of a shock!!! The paper being the most expensive!! Don't think it pays to go into that much detail of cost.

Some close ups.......

The fence is a Doo-hickey die, the flowers & ribbon are all Wild Orchid Crafts (although the white Cherry Blossom's I pinched out of Rachel's stash but is still WOC), thanks for that Rach!!!  I put a little Star Dust Stickles on the pink flowers and the dandelion flowers in the picture.

The insides which took forever.......

and close ups.......

The butterfly is from Dusty Attic, which I have painted with perfect pearls and added some Kaiser Craft bling, the swirl is another Doo-hickey die painted with perfect pearls and then lots of Star Dust Stickles.

Now looking at the insides I don't know why it took sooooo long!!! But I am pleased just to get it finished :) .

The back very simple.......

Well the weekend is drawing to a close and I didn't get as much done as I had hoped for, never mind tomorrow is another day.

Hope you enjoyed my card.

Take care
Joanne

Wee Suzi Number 2

Hi everyone

Hope you are having a nice relaxing weekend and enjoying the sun shinning finally!!!

Here is my second card using the Wee Suzi Digi Image, this time I have used a very different colour combo for me purple & yellow.

The card layout is based on one by the talented Dena Coucienne  and I used a technic that Steph Devlin showed us at Glen Tui camp last year, which is punching out strips of paper and then folding it so it bends around the circle, pretty cool eh!  I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir pens and then tried to find some paper to match, out of all the paper I have these purple & yellow ones were it, they are a Heidi Grace Design paper pack "Girlfriends".

Some close ups.......

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, butterfly Martha Stewart Punch with some dimensional magic and Kaiser Craft bling, I also got the sewing machine out for around the edges.  The saying is a Kaiser Craft rub-on.

The insides.......
and close-ups.......

I kept the insides fairly simple as there is lots going on with all the bright spots everywhere and the back is simple too.......

On the whole I quite like how the purple & yellow combo turned out, it gives a nice bright happy feeling to the card.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time take care and enjoy yourself!!!

Cheers

Wee Suzi Card

Hi there

Hope you all have had a great weekend, today I have for you another card I finished yesterday using the Wee Suzi digi image, such a cutie! She is coloured with my Spectrum Noir Pens, I almost threw this image out as I didn't like how her dress had turned out, but I played around with a bit more and think its ok now :).

I must say I really like how this card turned out, the layout is based on one by the talented Bev Rocherster, the paper (except for the blue which is from Basic Grey) is from the Kaiser Chanteuse Collection 6X6 pad.  The Base layer is actually a foil print, which is hard to see in a photo.

Some close ups.......

The flowers are all Wild Orchid Crafts, who now have freight free for orders over $75 awesome!!! The dies used are Spellbinders and Magnolia Doo-hickey, the corner die is from EZcut.

The insides.......
and closeups.......

The gorgeous die in the middle is from Cheery Lyn dies, the butterflies are a Martha Stewart Punch, and bling is from Kaiser Crafts.

Simple but sweet I thought, I kept the back very plain.......

Well thats it from me, I have another card idea in my head which needs to be done.

Thanks for stopping by & until next time, take care

Cheers

Wee Florist Number 2

Hi there

I was showing a friend some of the cards I had been making lately when she pointed out I hadn't put this one on my blog, so here it is.......

It is another Wee Florist digi image coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens.  Finding flowers to match caused me a wee headache, I wanted them to match the flowers she has in her bucket and out of all the flowers I had, only the one sort matched!!! So had to use white and lime green ones.  The butterfly is one of the gorgeous Prima ones I got ages ago, the lace and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the ribbon (which I sadly used all up on this card) was from our local sewing shop and they have none left either!!! :(

The insides.......

The paper is from the Kaiser Lilac Avenue Collection.

Closeups.......

The butterflies are all Martha Stewart punches, the bling is a Prima swirl chopped up.

The doilies are from my stash and are the Wilton brand with some Tim Holtz distress ink around the edge.

The back was kept very simple.......

Just used one of my Cheery Lyn Doilie Dies and my stamp.

Well short and sweet today, hope everyone in New Zealand is have a nice relaxing holiday today :)

Catch ya all soon.
Cheers

Wee Florist Card

Hi there

I have been enjoying making my cards lately, today I have another one finished, using the very cute digi image "Wee Florist" by Sylvia Zet at Whimsey Stamps

The card layout is based on one by Bev Rochester who does the most amazing cards, she is one very talented lady.  The papers are from the Bo Bunny - Vicki B Collection paper pad, they are really bright and vibrant.  Sorry my photos are not the best, as have taken them at night time trying to use my small daylight lamp.

Some close up pics.......

I am not sure about her hair colour, I used my Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image in and wanted a change from the brown hair I had been doing, but it really is quite yellow, but to be honest has grown on me :) Let me know what you think!

The flowers and silver corners are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, the punch is Martha Stewart's Doiley Lace and a Spellbinder die used to frame the picture.  The sentiment is a Lily of the Valley stamp.

The insides.......

The photos really aren't doing the colours justice, sorry about that :( I will blame Rach for insisting I put this card up tonight, have been having major computer issues as well, may need a new computer arrggghh!!!

Closeup pics of the insides.......

These WOC flowers are Champayne/Pink coloured and are one of my favourite colours.

The back was kept very simple this time.......

Well hubby is telling me its bed time so better dash, thanks for stopping by, hope you liked what you sore (even with the bad photography).

Until next time, take care and enjoy your day.
Cheers
Joanne

Saturated Canary Card 2

Hi there

Well still not sure where to start with creating, so I thought I would show you my other card I made last week also, I am trying to build up my stash of cards so that I am more organised when birthdays come around. :)

This is the same image from Saturated Canary as my last card, it is amazing at how just using different colours can change the whole look.  I have again coloured with my Speccies.

I based part of this layout from a card I had saved a picture of last April by Kim Gruetzmacher, check out her blog she does amazing cards.

Some close ups.......
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts as is the lace, the seam binding was a prezzy from a special friend.  I love the Martha Stewart Scroll Heart Punch its grogeous!!!  The stiching is one of the pre-sets on my Janome sewing machine, it has hundreds to choose from :)

Pics of the inside.......

I decided to try and do the insides without actual flowers for a change, so instead I used the very cute and sparkly Kaisercraft - Heart Sparklets and their standard rhinestones.  The paper is from Prima's - Fairy Flora and Basic Grey's - Sweet Threads pads.

Lastly the back, not so covered this time.......

I have also started making little white boxes to store them in, so they don't get damaged.

Well that's it from me, please let me know what you think, it is always nice to get comments from fellow crafters.

Take care
Joanne
